So Nice to see you here!! Welcome back.
I ...Hi DR

So Nice to see you here!! Welcome back.

I think the alternative to not adding a year to be life would definitely be worse but it would ne nice to subtract years instead of add them.

I guess I should like at days like Fathers' Day as positively as you do. Remembering the good things always helps.

I want to slap some sense into Himself's kids. The furry kids always love us no matter what.

Were glad your back too! You have been on the road forever it seems.
Your Mom is amazing to handle the trip as well as she did. Meeting people for over 12 hours straight is exhausting to anyone no matter what the reason for for a memorial doubles the exhaustion.

I imagine the catch up is extreme having been gone for basically a month straight. I am glad you are making progress on your book because it is so needed. And I am glad you are making time for the pool and line dancing.

I'm rooting for getting back in a routine!

BillWilliam J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17369149140083493527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5906407940530405089.post-53778180551664475932012-06-18T06:08:25.312-07:002012-06-18T06:08:25.312-07:00Kelli

As to Thursday - I'd much rather you add another year to your life and time with us than otherwise! Do something special for you, please.

Today isn't a sledge hammer day for me. It's more a day to remember all the good things Daddy did/taught me and remember uncles and others who did the same. Unfortunately, Himself's kids didn't bother to send cards or phone, so the loves he got were from our furry kids (who are sometimes more understanding and affectionate than the human kind)

I'm glad to be back again. I've had my fill of traveling, for whatever reason, and hope to stay settled in my peaceful little corner of the world for a bit. The previous week is a blur of phone calls, getting a flight out ASAP. Mom had decided she wanted to get to IL a couple days before and did get to spend time with Aunt D, before she passed. We stayed at Aunt D's house, which was also the designated "command post" and meant people in and out from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm or later. Let's leave it at it was an exhausting, emotional and enlightening week.
I got home Monday night and have, this time, taken slow steps to returning to whatever may be normal and routine. The week in IL was more tiring than the 3+ week trip to AZ.
Been a scattered week of trying to catch up on domestics, editorial, trying to schedule clients and find a schedule that will allow me to meet client deadlines and then figure out how to get my own book ready to be published and get the marketing in place. I think I need an extra day in the week for the next few months, but that's not a negative, just a challenge.I did get to the pool a couple times and I cast fate to the winds and went to line dance for my mental well being. Hopefully, I can get a routine back in place.

Dona - good to see your note and good job on the shirt for your dad.

Kelli - nice to see you here. Bill has acquainted us with you and I'm wishing you the best.Lady DRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01520387022184142662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5906407940530405089.post-91862992477556275822012-06-17T18:24:54.446-07:002012-06-17T18:24:54.446-07:00We had a wonderful visit. I love the idea of a Golf Shirt! You did good since the shirt fit and he loved it! He had a great day! He is lucky to have you as a daughter.

Thanks for the nice comment about the previous blog entry and the poem!

BillWilliam J.https://www.blogger.com/profile/17369149140083493527noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5906407940530405089.post-34388063395814205392012-06-17T13:42:05.457-07:002012-06-17T13:42:05.457-07:00Once again you seen to have a full week ahead of y...Once again you seen to have a full week ahead of you. After last week I don't know how you find the energy!

I love the poem, I also loved reading your post to your dad again. I believe we were raised the same, you and I. A lot of your memories are how I remember life being with my mom and dad. Thanks for putting up the link to read your post again.

The last few years dad has said not to buy anything for him when it comes to birthdays or days like today. He believes at his age he has enough and he needs nothing more. I will usually make sure to make him his favorite dinner or sweet, or take him out. But this year I got him a gift anyhow, of course a Golf Shirt. (what else do you get a die hard golfer who has everything?) But its hard as he is not necessarily picky but different brands fit different on him and he always has to take things back (hence the don't buy me anything remark) Oddly enough it fit perfect and he seemed to love it color and all. I made a 35 minute drive up to a Chinese take out to get him his favorite meal too.

The Shankster also got some Chinese (we all love it) and I treated him with an Easy Cheesy Lemon Bar for a treat(his fav) Yes I know I shouldn't feed him the sweets, but I put a limit on how many he can eat and after all its Father's Day.donahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07507543526277522501noreply@blogger.com
