Bless the seven year old for hearing the alarm and knowing immediately what to do.
The ten suggestions seem pretty much like common sense to me, but I'm sure common sense is often in short supply when it comes to divorce and, especially, custody hearings.
No movies planned. Planes and trains sounds like it might be good, but I couldn't get the video to play (pout!)

Not sure that kid qualifies as a hero, but if he was the only one who woke up, I'd qualify him as "lightest sleeper".
Good tips for divorce court. A lot of them can be applied to any court experience, I'm sure.
If I even saw PLANES, TRAINS, & AUTOMOBILES, I don't remember it. Except maybe a couple of clips that get played a lot for some reason. I can't think of a favorite Thanksgiving movie, but there was one oldie about Pilgims with some old-timey stars that I quite liked. Ah, yes, the title just came to me: PLYMOUTH ADVENTURE. Spencer Tracy, Gene Tierney, and Leo Genn, who was a favorite of mine since QUO VADIS.

The seven year old did something most seven year olds wouldn't do, some would have just pannicked. Good for him.
I was pretty proud of myself when I read the divorce list because it was pretty close to the list I gave my divorcing client!
Planes and Trains was a decent enough movie but certainly not the best Thanksgiving movie ever.

You are right the divorce court tips can be applied to any situation.
I love both John Candy and Steve Martin but Planes and Trains was a decent movie just not the best Thanksgiving movie ever. I miss Candy. I added your suggestions to my to rent list.
