The Ducks vs. Auburn.

One of the problems with doing Updates is sometimes all my days run together and I can't remember exactly what I did last week. I'll try. Monday, Mom & I took Brother-in-law and sister out to dinner for his birthday. Tuesday & Wednesday nights and Thursday Morning was at Mom's. Thursday afternoon I went to the movie, THE NEXT THREE DAYS. It was OK but I thought the ending was a little disturbing. Friday was Christmas Shopping, picking up & dropping off dry cleaning, picking up drugs, grocery shopping, some reading, and a few other things that that I forgot about. Saturday was watching the Oregon vs. OSU The Oregon Ducks won and now will play Auburn for the National Championship on January 10, 2011 at 5:30 PST in Chandler, Arizona. You have my permission to root for The Ducks.

This coming week seems a little busy. Today is lunch with Mom and if I can find my car amongst all the dirt I will be taking Clara to get a bath. Tomorrow I am going to a book signing. Tuesday I will work all day on a work project. I have set aside Wednesday to write the entire day unless something comes up. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are at Mom's. The caregiver is going to LA to be with her sister on her sister's birthday so my sister is doing Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It seems exhausting already.

The entertainment update. I just can't get into Skating With The Stars so I haven't a clue what happened on that show. I tried to watch but that lasted about ten minutes before I tried to do something less painful like getting someone to give me fifty lashes with a wet piece of red licorice. On The Amazing Race it was a non-elimination week. There are four teams left and one will be eliminated tonight. I think this year an all woman team will win it. I'm betting on the doctors. On The Apprentice the annoying Lisa was eliminated at the start of the show meaning Clent and Brandy are the two finalists. They did bring back two teams of three made up of previously eliminated contestants with Lisa being included on one team. Two lessons were learned this week; Make sure your tell the photographer exactly what golf course to be at and make sure you spell the featured star's name right on all printed documents. On Top Chef All Stars Elia Aboumrad from Season 2 was eliminated.

I'm closing with good news:

It is now your turn to do whatever and say whatever you want on the blog. This is the day for it. This is also the day you share what is going on in and what went on in your lives. I always love to learn about you and what you are doing.

Sorry, Bill - having lived all our adult lives in the southeast, we'll be cheering for Auburn (the SEC Champion).

Hi Mary Z

It should be a good game. Right now Auburn is favored by 2 1/2 points. But what is amazing is the over/under. It is 75 which I am guessing is the highest over under in ages. For the non betters that means the odds makers expect Oregon and Auburn to score seventy-five points total. For instance something like Auburn 40 Oregon 37.

Okay, I can root for the Ducks. But, uh, you want to check your addition on those odds? (G)

Glad to see the reduced sound on commercials, but a shame we have to rely on the gov't to regulate it. How about we just not buy from those with loud commercials and let them know that fact?

Sorry to hear you and Sis are on full-time caregiver duty again. Seems you spend more time doing that than the hired caregiver lately.

Been a busy week around here, especially trying to get in standard editorial hours around the activities. Monday we did the chiropractor, Tuesday we did a show at NHC, Wednesday was line dance, Thursday the optho, Friday I visited with the jeweler, who took everyone of MA's pieces on ninety day consignment, at her established wholesale prices, is setting up a special section for her items and featuring her as a local artist and designer. Everyone say, "YEA!" and cross your fingers for good sales results, please. I did manage to cram in my self-required editorial hours. This weekend, I finished decorating for Christmas, which tends to extend from end of the house to the other, including bedroom and bath. I didn't use everything I have, but ran out of space. When it comes time to "take down," I shall take everything out of every box, unwrap it and determine what gets downsized, if I don't do it before. What I have up are five Christmas trees, the nativity on the mantle, the creche on the eterge, twenty-two Santas (some of which are 15" to 18") and won't even try to count Christmas bears and snowmen and candles and bows and ribbons and the like. I'm, uh, kinda into Christmas (wry s).

Skeeter's going through another patch of not eating and being lethargic, some digestive problems, but no signs of pain, so any positive thoughts will be appreciated.

I will root for Oregon. I will hate it, but I will do it. Quack! I am also very thrilled that the Huskies are maybe going to a bowl game this year. A nice change from not even winning a game two years ago.

Well, I hope the 'stop loud commercials' bill works this time. Seems to me we already had something like that, and the way they got around it was to compress the commercials' sound, giving it an apparent loudness that didn't show up on the meters but irritated the heck out of the viewers.

It's a very loud world. Last night, my investment group got together for dinner and a performance of NUTCRACKER. The ballet was quite good, with lots of impressive kids as well as some adults dancing. But the canned music they used was TOO DARNED LOUD in the loud parts. You expect it in a club or rock concert, but in a BALLET??? Really! Humph!

DR, a big YEA! for Maryanne's jewelry. Hope it sells like crazy. And some good thoughts and vibes for Skeeter to make another amazing recovery. I know she can do it. If I happen to see some of the game, like if they have it on where my mom lives, I shall root for Oregon. Otherwise, as usual, I shall ignore anything that looks like football.

I agree on not buying from those with loud commercials. Sounds like a plan. I am also glad for reduced sound.

DR, Positive thoughts coming your way for Skeeter. Glad no signs of pain.

As usual Bill, there is never a dull moment with you. Now I know I have a problem with memory, but I have to ask as I cannot remember. Who is Clara? I am hoping a cat or dog, although I can't remember you having either.

My week was busy also. I had to run up to my son's to get my Antique Secretary that he was so graciously keeping at his home for me while I was here. I had to leave my Piano and Chiffarobe with him also as they are all so large there was no room here. I don't think any of us thought I would be here this long.... His family is growing and he was starting to worry the little ones may accidentally break the glass door. We were happy to be able to fit it in our car without having to rent a truck. Got it all the way home and to the back door before the door flew open and the glass broke into a million pieces. Ugh. Had that thing over 40 years and who knows what it went through before I got it and never broke the glass. What a nightmare. We left the glass as it was cold, kind of dark out and this just depressed the Shankster to no end. Of course he was sure it was his fault. Of course another nightmare was where I would even put the darn thing.

Then it snowed Friday evening, we got just about 6 inches. The Shankster snuck out to shovel as he has orders from Heart doc not to. Poor thing's nose started bleeding and that is usually another nightmare. Being on Blood thinners its hard to get it to stop! With the shards of glass, blood covered back door, & blood soaked white snow, it looked like a crime scene around here.

Then After years of being a scaredy cat, I went and got my hair cut. My hair was longer than my booty. I really never go to a salon. I have always cut my own hair. Mostly just trimming. It hasn't been short since I was 13. Stress and just being way too long, was causing it to come out. I mean we were finding hair all over the place. Most recently in the Shanksters underwear....(this comment is giving a bit too much information, isn't it?) But a bad haircut for me in 2006 caused me to stay away from hairstylists til now. I just couldn't wait any longer. So I mustered up the courage & I have to say I am lovin it. They took off 2 ponytails of 15 inches in length each to donate. Then Layered the rest. I feel like such a weight has been lifted from me. lol Hair pun. But that was my week, one of Blood/Glass and Hair. Hey, that's a title for a blog.

Hi DR

Believe it out not my math is right I was giving an example of what kind of game the oddsmakers were expecting. They are expecting Auburn to win by more than 2 1/2 points and the total points for both teams to be more than 75. Auburn 40 Oregon 37 fits the bill because Auburn wins by 2 1/2 points and the total is 77 more than the 75. That is what the betters are expecting not me. I am expecting a lower scoring game and Oregon winning. Something like Oregon 35 Auburn 34

Skeeter and you have all my positive thoughts! As do you and Himself.

We have been doing more than the caregiver lately and tax season is beginning to worry me.

How was the show at NHC? And the ortho and chiro?

Great that the jeweler took all of Maryanne's pieces! My fingers are crossed.

Wowser to your Christmasw decorating, five trees! Wish I could get into Christmas as much as you do!

Hi Mary

I rooted for the Huskies yesterday because I wanted the to be bowl elgible. There aren't enough teams in the Pac-10 with winning records to fill all of the slots in the bowl games they have contracts with.

I will also root for Washington in whatever Bowl game they are in.

I'm so tired of the Pac-10 not getting its due. They have so many good teams that beat up on each other that it is hard for them to get teams with winning records.

I'm rooting for Oregon because I live hear and because I'm tired of everyone saying the SEC is much better than the Pac-10.

Hi Pat

We did have an agreement among broadcasters and telecasters not to turn up the sound during commercials but although I'm not sure I think is the first time it will become law.

I've always loved the NUYCRACKER but the loud music would have ruined it for me.

We welcome you to group rooting for Oregon.

Hi Dona

I bought my car with a small inheritance my Aunt Clara left me. I named my car after her. That is who Clara is.

Your week does sound busy. How far is your son from you? He sounds really responsible and a pretty good dad to worried about the little ones accidently breaking your antiques.

How absolutely awful to get it home and have it break. That would have made me so darn mad. The Shankster should worry, it was an accident.

And damn him for not listening to the doctor. Mom is also on blood thinners and any cut or nose bleed is dangerous. I hope he is OK.

I'm sorry but I am still laughing about your hair in The Shankster's underwear. I also know how dramatic it can be to find a new hairdresser or barber. I admire your courage. I'm glad you like i. And also that they could donate it!

I would read a blog titled, blood, glass and hair.

Whew!! So glad to know that Clara is your car & not a date you left laying around all dirty....:)

Son lives an hour away. Yeah he knows I have no place for these items, other than barn and its full. He knows these 3 things mean the me world to me. But I would have rather them break with me than the babies. So I wasn't too upset.

I was worried as I was writing about my hair, that it was too much info....but yes we were finding my hair in the most unusual places. I have some crazy stories, but That was the kicker in my butt to go get it cut. I cannot tell you how funny it was the day he found it.

Hi Dona

I prefer both my car and dates to be clean.

I'm so glad that you have the attitude you do about the glass breaking, that is impressive.

. So I wasn't too upset.

Never worry about TMI on my blog, the more we learn about everyone the better. Just let it rip here on the blog!
