Dogs, Reality, & Babies.

J. K. Rowling: Rowling may be rolling in a lot of Harry Potter dough today, but before she published the series of novels she was nearly penniless, severely depressed, divorced, trying to raise a child on her own while attending school and writing a novel. Rowling went from depending on welfare to survive to being one of the richest women in the world in a span of only five years through her hard work and determination.

Wish me luck today. I see the doctor at three about my leg. I want the damn thing healed.

The first story today is what I would call the good animal story.

WHO AM I?

I was born in 1882 and died in 1960. I was an Austrian-born British psychoanalyst who devised novel therapeutic techniques for children that had a significant impact on child psychology and contemporary psychoanalysis. I was a leading innovator in theorizing object relations theory. I first sought psychoanalysis for myself when I was living in Budapest during World War I. I had a major influence on the theory and technique of psychoanalysis, particularly in Great Britain. As a divorced woman whose academic qualifications did not even include a bachelor's degree I was a visible iconoclast within a profession dominated by male physicians.bApart from my professional successes my life was full of tragic events. Allegedly the product of an unwanted birth I had little affection from my parents. My much loved elder sister died when I was four and I was made to feel responsible for my brother’s death. My marriage failed and my son died, while my daughter fought me openly in the British Psychoanalytic Society. While Freud’s ideas concerning children mostly came from working with adult patients I was innovative in working directly with children, often as young as two years old. If you study "THE PSYCHOANALYSIS OF CHILDREN. That will answer the question, Who Am I?

I'm guilty of not dropping by regularly. I must have missed something about your leg. Are you OK? Good luck at the doctor. Now, heal!

Hi Sung

On New Year's Eve I was diagnosed with cellulities. It was supposed to heal in three weeks, it hasn't.

Seeing my regular doctor today to most likely be referred to a wound care specialist.

Bill, I'm holding good thoughts about your visit with the doctor this afternoon and methods that will heal the leg. This has been going on too long. I hate to sound like "big sister," but are you staying off the leg, as recommended? Your schedule sounds to busy to allow for much of that.

Great stories. I love the Jack Russel finding the little boy and all being well. I'm so glad technology is being used to ease pain and, from reading I've done, the approach makes a lot of sense. As to the dead baby - what a miracle. I can only imagine how the family must have felt, when the baby began crying. It's amazing it survived, having already been placed in a coffin and receiving no care or nourishment.

Now, please take care of you and let us know what the doc had to say today and where you go form here.

Hi DR

I just came from the doctor and he thinks the wound is progressing. Because the left leg is the one that was damaged in the car accident it doesn't have really good circulation and because of the circulation it could take a year to heal. I'm basically to dress the wound three times a day and put polyspurisn (sp) on it. I have to measure the redness around the wound everyday and if it gets bigger am to go back. So I need the prayer and good thought chain to keep going.

This is the second recent article that technology proved to be helpful. The robot that allowed the kid to go to school. And now to ease pain.

Ah, hadn't realized the wound was on the previously injured leg. I guess the circulation thing is the big key? Please follow directions and check the measurements - I know doing that was really impressed on me when I got the infection for the cat bite. Meantime, if he told you get it elevated periodically, I hope you'll do so. I'll certainly keep the prayers and positive thoughts headed your direction and hope it heals a lot faster than they say.

Meantime, could we all send positive thoughts and vibes to those caught in the 2011 Blizzard and those anticipating fallout from the same? I know we have some show up here periodically who are in the affected areas. Reports from relatives I've checked in with in IL, TX and PA sound a bit grim.

I'll wish you good luck with the leg even though I now see that it seems to be coming along.

Will also send good thoughts to those who are enduring storms. It certainly does seem grim.

All very nice stories today.

Good thoughts and good vibes for a speedy healing.

Today is Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit. Wishing you good health through the year.

PS, I don't know why, you've showed up as a possible friend on my facebook page so I'm going to add you as one.

Hi DR

I completely agree with you about thoughts and prayers to those caught in the blizzard. My niece is in Dallas as one of the media so she is out in it.

Circulation is definitely the key and I am following instructions to the letter!

Hello Bill, I too will send up good thoughts and prayers that you keep your good eyes on the leg and that it heals faster than they anticipate.

Sorry to not be here for a few, but the ice storm we received on Monday evening has had us keeping an eye out for falling trees around us. Also power is on, off, on, off.... I tried to post pics as quickly as possible on my blog to let family and friends know even if the trees are falling we are ok! :)

Outside of the Shankster falling twice now on the ice, we are still ok.

Dona -- stay safe. Hope the Shankster did not hurt himself.

Hi Dona

The sore on my leg has lasted longer than most of my relationships.

I am going to try to post the picture you sent me in email on the blog today.

I hope The Shankster didn't hurt himself and I hope you will or are getting some relief from the weather.

Please be well!

Thanks Snug and Bill, the Shankster? Well he was such a mess before, so I think he may have just tweaked the problems he already had just a bit. :) I am keeping an eye on him he is really sore, says he feels like he was beat up pretty good.

The Good news is that the Sun was out some yesterday and again today, so maybe some of this will melt a bit before we get more snow, as I heard it is in the forecast for next week! Snow I will take, the Ice? Not so much.

Bill I do hope you take care of the wound on your leg. I am afraid you may be like some of us here and don't care for yourself as much as you do your mom.

William J. said...

Hi Dona

But if The Shankster is hurting we are all hurting and we want him to be careful!

Glad to hear the sun is out and hope it stays out and hope they are wrong about another storm next week.

You need to move to Portland where our low temps are higher than you highs for the next week or so.

I'm doing everything the doctor said including measuring the redness around the wound. Yes I've measured other parts of my body before but never my leg.
