The Actress, Monogamy, Bullet Proof
Let's hear it for an Oscar award winning actress and her latest performance:

I always liked Winslet.
Do you believe in monogamy?

I'm the jealous type so monogamy is for me and whomever I choose to marry.
Let's close with an interesting but unusual article.

QUOTE
Alice Walker, author of "The Color Purple" authored yesterday's quote. ""You never lose by loving. You always lose by holding back." This lady born in 1951 has loved so much that she has been married at least five times. Using a masters in psychology from Sierra University in California and a PHD from Columbia Pacific this relationship specialist has written fourteen books on the subject including HOW TO MAKE LOVE ALL THE TIME., SECRETS ABOUT MEN EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW, ARE YOU THE ONE FOR ME, AND REAM MOMENTS. Let me tell you one secret about men that every woman should know, we wouldn't take relationship from someone that has been married five times. Who authored today's quote.

Bravo to Kate Winslet! I've always liked her, too.
I believe in monogamy, too. But it seems really difficult for some men. I rather admire the Frenchman for his attitude of "I believe in commitment...but not monogamy". At least I think I admire it, if I understand it correctly. He seems to be admitting he will not be strictly faithful, but he will honor any commitment he makes to another person as long as it doesn't require monogamy. I'm not at all sure I could live with that myself, but if he can find someone who can, more power to them both.
The "bulletproof skin" is interesting, but since it wouldn't repel a bullet fired at normal speed, I'd say the "bulletproof" aspect of it is the least of its appeal so far. Its usefulness for skin grafts, however, is very appealing indeed.
Good for Winslet. I've always liked what little I knew about her, but she clearly has a clear head and solid priorities.
I don't know that jealousy necessarily enters into it, but I do believe in monogamy. I think it's important from the standpoint of trust and longevity in relationships, be they marriage or otherwise. I'm not sure you can have commitment without fidelity, but maybe I'm an old fashioned fuddy-duddy.
I truly hope they're able to develop the new "Skin." It sounds like it has tremendous potential for medical purposes and would be a huge step forward in treating burns.
As to your quote author of the day - let me tell you a secret about women - I don't know any who'd take relationship advice from a woman with four failed marriages (or five, whatever). I know they say, "those who can't do, teach," but wouldn't you have thought she'd have learned on the second or third go-around, if not the first?
Hi Pat
I am not sure I sgree with the French, it seems like a license to cheat. But I do agree whatever happens between two people and whatever they agree to if fine.
I don't care if the bullet proof skin could stop a bullet, I see a gun, I am out of there.

Hi DR
Third time is a charge I hope, my first two responses ended up somewhere else but the blog.
Exactly, monogamy equals trust. I actually think affairs are stealing. Stealing time from the relationship or the spouse. I'm with you I don't think the relationship lasts with monogamy. Swingers have found that to be true. Exciting for a while but eventually one spouse drops out of it and a divorce happens.
I hope the new skin is developed for all the reasons you said but if I see a gun I am out of there. I'm just not taking chances.
As to the author of the quote, someone would have to be nuts to take her advise.
