We love this person and want wellness and happiness sent. And don't forget to comment to today's post.

QUOTES.

"Success can make you go one of two ways. It can make you a prima Donna--or it can smooth the edges, take away the insecurities, let the nice things come out." The famous lady interviewer was born in 1929 and is still alive and working. She started out as a writer at CBS. Then she moved on as a writer to a morning show on another network. Because at the time the thinking was nobody would believe a woman anchor she was a weather girl and did light news. She was chosen to be the moderator for the third and final debate between candidates Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, held at Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall in Williamsburg, Virginia, during the 1976 Presidential Election. In 1984, she moderated a Presidential debate held at the Dana Center for the Humanities at Saint Anselm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Many of her regular and special programs are syndicated around the world. As of 2004, she is in semi-retirement as a broadcast journalist, but remains a correspondent for ABC News as well as a host of special programs. In the fall of 2008, she was honored with the Disney Legends award, an award given to those who made an outstanding contribution to The Walt Disney Company, which owns the network ABC. That same year, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York Women's Agenda. On September 21, 2009 she was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 30th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards at New York City's Lincoln Center. How is your eyesight? 20/20? Don't know quite what to say about the mayor who didn't show up for Council meetings. In my small city, they pass the mayor job among Council members, carefully bypassing the one good person for several years now. We might be better off if 4 out of the 5 of them didn't show up for work. The one good Council member could handle things quite well, probably better, without the rest of them.

Good for the 90 y/o woman with the dangerous cane! The police are quite right, of course, she's fortunate that the burglars ran. But risk-taker or not, you have to hand it to her!

Funny story about the ferry, but you do have to wonder whether passenger boats have a co-pilot, don't you?

Super-positive vibes? I'll work on that. {g}

I can see missing meetings, if he was out on firefighter calls, but because he's a student? If one makes a commitment to an office, one should be sure he/she can fulfill the duties.

Good for the lady with the cane. Yes, it could have "gone bad," but I think the more people do to protect themselves and their homes, the more the "bad guys" may have some second thoughts. One hopes.

As to the ferry -- I'm not sure how being stuck in the bathroom could be considered criminal anything, but I echo Pat's question about a co-pilot. I suppose it depends on the size of the ferry?

Definite positive vibes, as well as prayers for wellness to our blog member!

Hi Pat

I kind of agree with both you and DR, it would be better if the idiots in Washington didn't show up but a very small town I think the mayor has to show up, if school kept him from his obligations he shouldn't have ran.

The 90 year old's action could have got her killed but I still admire her spunk.

That was my reaction too, didn't they have co-pilot?

Hi DR

I'm with you about missing meetings, once in a while with a good reason. But every meeting do to something he was aware of before he ran? He is out in my city.

I do thing everyone should protect themselves but their valuables aren't worth risking life and limb. The lady had more spunk then most younger than her.

I am guessing it could be criminal because there was a co-pilot that the stuck pilot didn't call before he left and exposed his passangers to injury.
