Dot, Dot, Dot.

That is the game we are playing today. Remember the old news ticker tapes? A little tape would appear at the bottom of the TV screen, there would be several dots then a news story, then more dots, then another news story.

Dot, dot, dot - Daylight Savings time starts this Saturday evening. Well actually Sunday morning at two A.M. Spring forward, fall back. Set your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed Saturday night. I hate it. Well, I don't hate Daylight savings time, I hate the idea of changing the clock twice a year. As someone that cares for an elderly parent it bothers me because changing the clock an hour effects their medication schedule and for the rest of us it has an impact on our sleep patterns. I say pick a type of time you like and leave it that way all year round! If they want Daylight Savings time leave the damnn clock the same all year around.

Dot, dot, dot - man dies after overdosing on viagra. That is a real stiff.

Dot, dot, dot - Rhianna is said to be reconciling with the dude that was arrested for abusing her. Is she freaking crazy?

Dot, dot, dot - Unemployment in Oregon is nearing 10%. Ugh.

Dot, dot, dot - Britnany Spears is making a comeback. Was she gone?

Dot, dot, dot - New York Times Square is getting a makeover. Mayor Bloomberg has announced plans to make Times Square a pedestrian mall.

Dot, dot, dot - Mom is improving everyday. Been a lot of work, tonight will be my third night in a row there. Tomorrow the caregiver comes back and then sister is coming this Saturday. So after tomorrow my life will just be three jobs!

OK, it is your turn. Dot, dot, dot me with national stories that interest you and local stories that you think would interest us!

Dot, dot, dot - it is your turn!

...puppies returning today, just as we are expecting a week of rain. Expect pee on floor.

...I totally agree about changing the !@#$% clocks. Every gadget in my house has a clock and it's a Big Job.

...Unemployment in CA is around 10%, too. Horrible.

...A little bit more rain here, which is nice because I can leave my sprinklers turned off a while longer. We have the usual (or worse) drought warnings and are urged to conserve.

...Still working on the insurance for mom. Annoying job!

...Nothing in the news is a grabber at the moment. Waiting and watching on the "stimulus" business, which won't affect me much, except I really, really don't want the country to crash and burn.

Hi Pat

I have a lot of changing of things too! Car, Cell Phone, and the list goes on!

Oregon hasn't been at 10% unemployment for ten years and I'll bet it has been even longer for California.

I hope the insurance for you mom comes through and the burden lessens for you!

I am hopeful that the country won't crash and burn!

Dots? Gosh, I have to find them before i can connect them.

I'm with you on DST -- pick a time and stick with it. AZ doesn't observe it, so we all have to rehtink calling youngest sister when time changes. I cannot tell you what hassles ensued when they changed the AK time zone and then tried to decide on whether to observe DST. The original reason is gone. Now, we're using made up reasons. And it throws off everyone's schedules, from the meds for our parents to our own sleep schedules to (dare I consider this important) feeding and meds for our critter. I remember, many years ago, the farmers grumbling, "Pick God's time and just let it be!"

As to viagra and Rhianna and Brittany -- some folks need a reality check. And how important is this to our own worlds? OTOH, unemployment stats are downright scary and, as Pat pointed out, not restricted to any one area, and I sincerely hope we can get this turned around.

I'm so glad to hear Mom's doing better and Sis is coming and you can cut back to only three jobs (koff!)

Pat, good luck on the insurance issues!

I guess my "dot, dot, dot" comment would be I'm sorry to see Obama has to sign the budget with all the earmarks and pork, in order to get to where he wants to go with the next budget. I wish he could line item veto the prok and get the budget through, as I think "pork" has been one of the downfalls of our budgetary process for way too long.

Only news here is we got 2" of snow (enough to paralyze the city, close schools and such), but it come on top of almost an inch of ice. Today's plans for pool and guitar jam went out the wayside, as we couldn't get down the drive and there was a large tree across the access road to State Park (our "out" to civilization).

Good luck on finding the dots!

We all agree on DST. Arizona and I think Illinois are two states that don't follow it. Good point about the pets!

Mom had a set back yesterday but seems to be doing better this morning. As to me, caregiver is sick so I will be here the rest of the week. Not to mention the two jobs. Life is so easy!

I would love if they had line item veto power.

Wow, is snow unusual this time of year? I hate ice so much worse than snow!

I hope the weather changes.

Oh, Bill, so sorry to hear your mom had a setback. The caregiver being ill justs adds insult to injury and a ton to your load. This comes under the heading of Life is Not Fair!

Snow is unusual in general terms here, let alone now. Haven't the nerve to go see how the daffie bed fared. Still have 2" on the upper terrace of the back yard. However, temps are gradually rising and predicted to be 76 on Saturday. Go figure.

Btw, it's AZ and IN who ignore DST, I think. I know IL still has it.

Hi Dr

I hope the weather improves and does so fast so that you aren't housebound!

I wasn't sure if it was In or Il that ignored DST but the states that do so are smarter than the rest of the us!.
