The Week Begins.

Wasn't able to get my shit together enough this morning to post a blog entry before leaving for work so this week the posts will be after work.

The beginning of a new work week. I'm was ready. I didn't spy on anyone, however.

Lot of the youngest children at work. One or two middle ones. One oldest one. Does birth order really make a difference?

At work we protect our clients' information like it deserves top secret attention.

License Plate Cameras? Not really surprised, Quite frankly I am starting to feel like we are spied on anywhere. Don't like it much but again don't think there is much we can do about it either.

I did think birth order made a difference, but I also believe parenting can change that tremendously. I am a middle child, had the best parents in the world, growing up did not see favoritism but looking back as an adult can. It doesn't change how I feel about my parents, but still feel as though I do not belong and am surely adopted. :) I feel that I have to do everything from cleaning, bills, laundry, repairs and so on, as I also feel that no one could possibly do as good a job. So maybe birth order doesn't make a difference?

Gosh Bill, I thought you always had your shit together.....:) Don't worry about it, I am finding these days, I never have mine together enough for a complete thought. And maybe don't worry about a post everyday, just a couple times a week!!

I never have figured out how you get up and post a blog every morning, given my personal habits, so evenings are fine with me. And, as Dona said, with your schedule, when you have time.

Not in favor of the plate cameras, which is ironic, as I have no problem with cameras catching those who run stop lights. This, however, seems a lot more intrusive. Why would the gov't, at any level, need to know where I am on any given day? Big brother?

I've never been able to buy off on the birth order thing, because I just don't see it happening in my family and, goodness knows, we're spread apart. I'm oldest, Bro five years younger, Rho two years after him, Deb a surprise four years later. While I admit I have control needs, which may go back to being responsible for younger siblings, I'm not sure about the rest for me. And not at all sure about the stuff about the younger siblings applying. As Dona said, maybe it's a part of the family environment/attitude/nurturing. Although I had no one my age, the other siblings all had cousins their age in the near vicinity. Did/does that make a difference? (shrug). I do know that marriage, geographic differences and lifestyle choices have drawn some differences, but I don't associate that with birth order.

More prayers for Mom, please. She's back in hospital, no one can tag what's wrong and three docs are in disagreement. Deb has made it very clear than when a decision is made and treatment completed, Mom will go directly home, not to a rehab facility. No idea how that impacts treatment or discharge. I figure Deb has to feel like a yo-yo on an elastic string, at this point, and she's dealing with it alone at this point.

It is with a broken heart that I have to tell you all that I lost my brother Bill Dahn today at 1:15pm pacific time. He went to the emergency room Monday night because he wasn't feeling well. They found inflamation of the pancreas and gall stones. They thought he was on the mend last nite but said it would be 24 hours before we would know for sure. At 10:00 pm he started to get worse and the pancreaitis was so severe it could not be controlled or reversed. His passing has been a terrific blow and loss to all of his family. You all as his internet family need to know how much he enjoyed hearing from you all. Say a prayer for us. Jackie (Sis)

Jackie, I have to say Frank and I are heartbroken as well. This news has devastated us. Bill comforted me when I needed comforting, thru this blog and emails, he welcomed me here and made me feel as tho we had known each other all our lives. Bill has been so kind to us both and we will miss him dearly. Our hearts go out to you and your mom. Please let her know we are thinking of you all at this time.

I was so shocked when Dona contacted me with the news. My condolences to everyone here. I have always found support and understanding in this little community here, and that was Bill's legacy of kindness. RIP, Bill.

Jackie, I just read this, I am so sad to hear it. Bill was one of the kindest and funniest people I've ever known. I saw him last when I brought my son to Portland to look at colleges a couple of years ago, Bill took my whole family out to dinner and assured me he'd keep an eye on my son if he ended up in Portland. Please know what a great man he was.

Jackie - I only met Bill in "real time" a couple of times at Netstocks, but I knew him online for many years. He was a good friend and I shall miss him deeply. I'm too shocked to know what else to say, except sympathy to all the family, particularly your Mom who I felt I got to know through Bill and admired greatly.

I'm still trying to absorb the idea of Bill being gone. I've known him over twenty years, met him in Boulder. He's such a caring man and has been so supportive of many. The help and encouragement he offered those of us dealing with elderly parents meant so much. The personal help and encouragement he offered me will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to you and your family and to your mom. Peace, prayers and love... DanaRae
