Hang In There

With me. Only three days to go before I go back to my favorite occupation of future lottery winner. That occupation gives me a lot of free time and certainly enough free time to start posting regularly on the blog again! Thanks so much for your patience with me!

May you all be future lottery winners!

Bill, I can't believe you managed to post what you have and keep up with the blog, along with tax season, the caregiver issues and concerns about your mom. Of course we're hanging in there with you! And I think you deserve a couple days off to decompress.

C'mon, guys, we've all got stories or opinions or ideas. Can't we send Bill some of these over the next week or so, to give him a chance to finish tax season AND recover?

I'll second everything DR said, but alas, don't think I can come up with any good stories to fill the empty space.

I'll comment that I'm very glad the hostage ship captain was rescued. A lot of people are saying that merchant ships should be armed, especially in that pirate-infested area. Seems like a good idea to me. Apparently the pirates do very well indeed by holding the ships' cargoes for ransom, and somebody commented that our response this time might make them re-think their business model.

I agree with both Ladydr and Pat!

But come on Bill....I thought I was the FUTURE LOTTERY WINNER! :)

Well, from this neck of the woods, April 15's just tomorrow -- you can breathe again soon.

I know it's not update Friday but I missed last Friday and thought I'd write today since I'm home or I might miss this Friday again.

My plate got a little fuller over the weekend (just when you think there's no more room, it always gets you). My uncle (dad's elder brother) died on Saturday. He had liver cancer for sometime, and had a stroke last month. Dad has no idea, mum's not telling him till "things are settled", by which I take it to mean not my uncle's affairs but dad being home and back to some sort of normality.

Then my older dog had surgery today (that's why I'm home) to remove a lipoma. It's a fatty growth just under the skin and would usually be left alone but this one had grown a bit since we found it last year, and it was also growing towards the lymph node in the foreleg and the vet wanted to be cautious about it as Queeni had a mast cell tumour on a hind leg removed more than a year ago, and a toe had also to be amputated.

I felt very sorry to have to subject Queeni to another surgery -- four years ago, she also had to have bilateral cataracts removed. I think I paid for my vet's kids' education. But it was fortunate we had surgery scheduled for the lipoma removal because just two days before it was about to take place, she must've scratched her ear too hard or something and it swelled up with a haematoma. So that was taken care off at the same time, and she also had her teeth cleaned. She came home the same day, sulked well into the next but is generally on the mend. The vet has sent the growth for histopathology, even though he's 99% sure that it's benign, just to be on the safe side, given her mast cell tumour history. We'll know the results in a week.

Hello to Snug and sorry to hear of your Uncle's passing. I think I agree with your mother about not mentioning it to your dad under the circumstances.

Also sorry to hear you are going through a lot with your furkids. But being an animal lover (especially dogs) I can totally understand. And the cost can really break you, but when it comes to those you love whether it be your family or your animals, most times you do whatever you can and figure it all out later.
I pray things will get easier for you soon and your plate will just be filled with something good to eat! :)

Ok Ladydr, a small suggestion to give Bill a chance to have a few more days to finish and recover. He does a lot to listen to us whine/complain and takes the time to respond to each of us. So, what about if all of us posters sign in again with who we are, where we are from, how we know Bill...etc? Maybe give some Lurkers/newbies a chance to say hello and give us all a chance to welcome them?

Just a thought.

I am mostly out of ideas at the moment, which is why I can't seem to come up with a post on my own blog! :)

Hi Snug

You just have to damn much on your plate.

As to posting an update post an update anytime! We always want to know how you are doing.

I'm sorry about your Uncle. Death of a close relative is hard no matter when but when you are also dealing with your dad's health issues, waching out for your mom, your beloved bet, have a jobe a husband, it is grief ten fold. Hugs Snug. If we can do anything to help you at all you let us know. If you want to post a memorial to your dad, you can do it here, if you want to just post your thoughts about your uncle you can do it here.

I hope your older dog has recovered or will recover please keep us up to date on that too. Most of us hear are animal lovers.

Queeni knows in her heart you will always do what is best for her.

Hugs, Snug

Bill

RED!!

Where the heck have you been!

Now that tax season is over I can start going to movies again!

I am not sure which one I am going to but I think there is a new Russell Crowe movie coming out Friday. I'm also thinking about going to the movie where a guy goes out looking for a best friend. I can't remember the name but it got good reviews.

DR, Pat, & Dona

DR I keep up with the blog because you are all more important to me than the job. I've only had the job two months, I've had most of you as friends for years!

Pat, I was glad that we rescued the captain. I'm sorry anyone was killed but maybe this is a case where the deaths will end up preventing more deaths in the future.

Dona more than one persoan can be a future lottery winner!

Hi Bill: glad for you tax season is over. I've been sick, turns out I have been sick for years and didn't know it. Now that things are figured out hopefully things will get better. In fact I have already started feeling better. Enjoy some of our sunshine now that you can take a deep breath. There are a lot of good movies coming out.

Hi Red

I'm very glad that they found out something and are treating it and that you are starting to feel better but I'm sad that they never knew it before now.

Please keep getting better and let us know your progress!

Bill
