Pat, Lady Vols, Dancing, Top Chef

Everyone wish Pat good luck. She posts here often and is having surgery on her ankle today. Wishing you a successful surgery Pat!

Congrats to the Lady Vols on making the final 16 of the Women's NCAA Championship tournament. Rumor has it that Mary Z is a big fan of the Lady Vols.

Still on basketball. The March Madness Men's bracket had a ton of upsets. Of the 3.6 million that entered the ESPN's March Madness Bracket Challenge on two picked all sixteen teams that made to the final 16.

Penn Jillette was eliminated from Dancing With The Stats along with tennis pro Monica Seles. For the first time ever they eliminated two in one night, one man and one woman. They got the woman right but the man that should have been eliminated is Adam. Next to be eliminated in the following order are: Adam, Marissa, Steve. I was really sorry to see Monica go because she was doing something so different for her and enjoying it.

Top Chef, season four week three is on tonight at 10 on The Bravo Channel. Tonight the culinary artists dish up fare at a neighborhood party, overseen by chef and Mexican cuisine master Rick Bayless.

May this be a great day for all of you!

Thanks for the good vibes, Bill. I am now successfully unscrewed (and have the screw as a souvenir). Not bad at all. The worst part was having to get up at 5:30 in the morning. I'm still numb at 10 a.m., so not sure if I'll need all that Vicodin he gave me (hope not).

Dancing with the Stars: They are eliminating the worst dancers, for once. I wonder, will they always do that "Recap" show before the elimination? If so, I won't have to suffer through the original show, which has more "filler" than I've seen on tv, and I've seen a lot. I always tape it so I can FF through all the "be sure to vote" annoying stuff. One question: who is choosing the music this year? Weird choices. Another question: has Priscilla Presley had too much plastic surgery or too much botox? She can't move her face. But she's doing much better at the dancing than I expected, I'll give her that.

I'm very thankful the surgery went went well!!. I don't think I would want to save the screw the thought of screws and surgeries make me want to pass out.

I kind of wish Adam and Penn would have gone so Monica could stay but the rules were one man and one woman.

I actually like the filler. It is fun for me to learn about the celebs and how the celebs treat the professionals and visa versa. For instance, I learned what a gentlemen Tony was by the way he treated Marrisa.

The music is better this year. They have more choice of songs this year because ABC bought the rights to more. Bigger budget, better music. I think the music would be even better if my favorite musice editor was in charge of the music.

I never even noticed Pricella's plastic surgery. I am just that naive. I am so naive that I wouldn't even notice if I had plastic surgery.

Hope the pain is letting up.

Hope all continues to go well, Pat. Sorry, Bill, but I still have the screw they took out my ankle 25 years ago. There's still one in there, but I have no pain or arthritis in that area (other places, but not there). I hope you have results as good.

And, yes, Bill - you might have noticed that we're Lady Vols fans. It does make us happy (most of the time.)

Thanks, Mary and Bill. I have about 8 screws and a plate remaining that will stay, but this one, he said, might break when I walk on it, so out it came. Hurt like a sonofagun yesterday, but is much better today, thanks.

As to DANCING, I also like the interviews and the practice sessions, it's all that 'don't forget to vote' and giving of phone numbers and explaining of the rules (12 votes each???) that I can't sit through. I mostly tape it, but if I watch live, I switch to the Food Channel when they do all that.

I'm rooting for the Lady Vols now that Nebraska is gone. Pat Summit is a great coach.

Eight screws! Wow you must have really broken you ankle. I'm glad it is better today but sorry you had to go through the pain of yesterday.

I don't like the don't forget to vote things either and I think it is worse this year than ever because they don't want to have another Sabrina thing this year.

If you like the food channel you would love Top Chef.

What's the Sabrina thing? I hardly watched it last time, can't remember why.

Yes, I broke the ankle well and truly, in three places and invoving a tendon. When I do a thing, I do it thoroughly.

Oh, I already love Top Chef. Always watch that one.

The Sabrina thing was that she was the best dancer on the show last season and ended up getting voted off before lousy dancers like Marie Osmand. People didn't vote for Sabrina because they thought that since she was such a great dancer she was safe as she would have enough votes. She didn't. Since then they will often say "if you want them to stay on you have to vote for them." They always shilled for votes but never used that phrase since Sabrina got the boot.

Your ankle break sounds like one of the worse ones that I heard.

Thanks for the info on "the Sabrina Thing". I had forgotten her name, but I was incensed when she got voted off. In fact, that's when I stopped watching the show so religiously.

Yes, I guess the break was unusually bad. People kept coming by and saying, "You had a really bad break". The doc said it was one of the most complicated ones he's done, but then he's really a hand specialist. Whatever, it's almost over. Can't wait!

A lot of people quit watching the show after Sabrina got voted off that is why the shilling to call in is so much greater now.

As to the ankle that just sounds terrible and I do hope it is over soon. Will be rooting for you to go back to normal soon.
