Good, Bad, Ugly

Heading out in a couple of minutes. I have a breakfast meeting this morning. Then it is on to Mom's.

Yesterday I met with Mark, the one that bought my business. He is doing well and his cancer is in remission. I was really pleased with how he looked. His mom is still alive, in her nineties, and doing well. She gets depressed but I just think that is normal for the aging and someone that lost her spouse within the last couple of years.

Monday the minister came to Mom's to give us both communion. Mom can't make it to church so the minister came to her home. I don't know, I always feel so good after communion.

Not much else to report on today. Except:

The bad:

What good news about Mark's recovery and remission. I've thought of him often. Equally good news about his mom.

The wedding ring story was great. The tug-of-war story scary, given that "game" has been around forever. I'm trying to figure out how they had their hands around the rope that could result in such serious ramifications. As to handcuffing the little boy. Okay, we don't really know the whole story but, even if he was a discipline problem, there are other ways to deal with a child who has misbehaved, even badly. I don't understand the need for the cops, unless there's a long and compelling history between these two boys and the inability of school administrators and parents to resolve the issue. Even then... I also watched the video at the bottom, about the private school and new disciplinary actions. Again, don't know the whole story, but it didn't sound positive to me.

Again, asking for more prayers for Mom and Deb. A call from Deb at 1:00 this afternoon that Mom was being transported back to hospital. She was fine after breakfast, talking with Deb about maybe going home Sunday, suddenly went all sleepy and exhibited all the symptoms D and I saw the Friday and Sat AM before we admitted her the last time, including being non-responsive. None of the staff could get her awake, nor could Deb. Her b/p, blood sugar and oxygen levels were fine, so there's no clue as to what's going on or what happened. We wait. You do not want me to start on my theories, ideas, thoughts and feelings about all that's gone on. Hmmm, you might want to add a little prayer for my patience and understanding levels.

The Amish believe one is not to worry, as that is arrogant, an indication you don't trust God to know what He's doing. I've really tried to apply that to the last month, since learning of it. It has helped me a lot, so I pass it on to all those here who are dealing with myriad issues.

Hi DR

First and foremost you have my prayers and good thoughts. It is really tough to deal with all the ups and downs. You know in a lot of ways it sounds like your mom is going into diabetic comas.

I think the Amish are on to something.

I was happy that Mark is well on his way to full health.

I loved the wedding ring story, those stories make my day.

The tug of war story is very puzzling. It is hard to understand how it went bonkers and people got hurt.

To me there are better ways to hand children than handcuffing them. There just has to be a better way.

Quick note - we thought diabetic, as well, both at home and Wednesday. However, her blood sugar levels were right where they belonged. Go figure.
