Music & Art

Today subjects are:

Music:

For those of you that have never heard of or heard the music of Michael Alan Harrison you are missing the music of one of the best jazz musicians around. You listen to one of his CDS at a library or you can buy one of his CDS anywhere that sells them.

The fact that he saw something in the young girl in the story just tells you how good she is.

Art:

Art is therapy and it doesn't even have to be good art. This story touched me to the core.

As always your thoughts and comments are appreciated!

As usual, you've found some really interesting articles and both of them are feel good How wonderful that Harrison took such an interest in Hailey and equally wonderful that, at such a young age, her mission is to help others, as he's helped her. A young teen, teaching other kids, for free, to learn to love and enjoy music is a concept that warms my heart.

Art as therapy I've heard of, but this article about doing the show is terrific. I really like the idea that it doesn't have to be good, to be expressive and healing. And "good" is in the eye of the beholder.

Two terrific, feel-good articles. Thank you for sharing, Bill. You've made my day brighter.

Hi DR

I loved the 14 year old girl, who has it together at that age? She obviously does and she has to be extremely talented.

I also like the fact that the art didn't have to be good to be therapy.

Thank you for the nice comments!

Lovely articles, both. I really wish I could see some of the art, though. "Good" is in the eye of the beholder anyway.

Hi Pat

I also thought the article would have been even better had they showed a lot of the pictures. It would have enhanced what they were doing.
