Trick Or Trick Update.

Happy Halloween to goblins, ghosts, monsters, and all my friends here, there, and everywhere.

Last week was kind of a busy week. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday nights and Thursday morning was at Mom's. I made the time there pretty light. We went out for a couple of meals, cooked a couple of meals at home, ran errands, and played a lot of Scrabble. Thursday evening was rest and relaxation. Friday was the movie HEREAFTER and scheduling my new roof.

On the agenda this week is lunch today with Mom and then the trick or treat little ones tonight. Monday is paying bills and doing my books, then dinner out with the family. Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday morning is at Mom's. I am sure one of those days Mom and I will go see the movie Life As We Know It. Friday is my new roof day.

The entertainment update. Much to the Mondo's fans' chagrin Gretchen won Project Runway. It is the third time someone from the Portland-Vancouver metro area won Project Runway. On The Amazing Race the doctors, Nat & Kat, finish first and the volleyball playing team, Katie & Rachael, finished last and were eliminated. On Dancing With The Stars there was a surprise elimination. Tony & Audrina were eliminated despite having one of the highest scores the night before. I'm really hoping that Bristol goes this week.

That is it for the day. The blog is now yours. Let me know what is going on your lives, what went on last week, and what will go in next week. Vent if you want to. Celebrate friends and family if you want to. Celebrate yourself if you want to. And if you have been reading the blog and not posted yet we would love it if you share your life with us.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

We plan on having a quiet Halloween. Our neighborhood doesn't have small children. We may actually go out for awhile.

Nice weather in North Texas today.

Like CD, we'll have a quiet Halloween, as we live on a small semi-circle off a major highway. There are, in general, fewer T&Ts around here, with the mall doing a candy walk and almost every Baptist church in the county has a party of some sort, to protect the kids from evils.

High spot of the week was doing a show for Brighton Gardens. A bit of a fiasco, as the room wasn't set up as agreed, so eight of us danced in a space about 18' wide and 10' deep, while dodging walkers and wheelchairs coming in from a door behind us. During the second dance, as I pivoted to the back wall, I realized we had an extra body in the back line - one of the residents (G). She allowed those of us beside/in front of her to gently aim and turn her, so she didn't get run over. It was a hoot and a good time was had by all. Yesterday, we went "leaf-peeping" in the NC mountains, had lunch out and walked through the Ashville farmer's market. Otherwise, it's been pool, editorial and line dance - starting to get ready for the Christmas shows. Next week it's blood tests on Monday, then Tuesday is massage, pool, Dr. Van and vote. Once again, wish I could honestly vote FOR a candidate, instead of picking the lesser of the evils. Sigh.

I'm going to visit mom tonight and keep the house dark. I used to really like giving out candy on Halloween, but not so much any more. Too many huge groups, and while nobody's rude, nobody is much interested in anything but what kind of candy they're getting, so it's not much fun. Notable difference is parents with little first-timers. They are usually happy and friendly and the kids are adorable.

I was sorry that Gretchen won RUNWAY, as I didn't like her. I didn't actually like any of the clothes, but if I had had to choose a collection, it would have been Andy's. Except for all the shorts-- who wears shorts for dress-up?? I did like Mondo's t-shirt with the skull on it, and one other top of his. I've only been sort of watching-at RACE and DWTS, so not much opinion there, except I don't like the Home Shopping girls.. well mostly one of them. The one that's NOT named Claire. Don't know what her name is, but she's really annoying as she yells at Claire to encourage her.

Happy Halloween to everyone here. Hoping the treats are grand and the tricks are few. I say we all go over to Bills house and grab some Hershey Bars! :)

The past week was spent trying to get myself better while making sure the Shankster is taken care of too. He had to go back to the doc and found that in one week he lost 10 pounds! Wow. I sat for a week and am sure I gained that. :(
He is still no better even with different antibiotics. But we are just at week 4 so am sure there are a couple to go. Which is normal for him.
I am better as I can walk on my own now. Took a good week to get to that point.

I was sad to see that Gretchen won also. I thought she was mean. She might have needed the win, but she acted like she was the only one that was talented in the group. I bet there is no living with her now. Even though I didn't like all of Mondo's clothes so much I did think he was talented. I lost interest in DWTS when my fav was eliminated. I agree with Pat on Amazing Race. I don't know her name either but she can really get on your last nerve.
DR, Sounds like you had your hands full on the last show, but also sounds like fun. I can imagine they all just love you girls.

Hi Connie

Sounds like a fun stress free night, do you dress up when you go out?

Hi DR

When I did some shopping yesterday the shopping center was full of trick or treaters. The center had all stores handing out candy. Probably better having on a Saturday than a school night.

I would have loved to been to your show at Brigton Gardens. I loved that you turned a potential fisaco into a good show. And later turned the unexpected guest into part of the performance and made it a hoot! Your dancing team members must be really special.

I do hope the blood tests turn out normal. We have vote by mail so I already voted. Like you I chose the lesser of two evil.

Hi Pat

I agree with you about the large groups at the door. Fortunately we don't get any of those. Ours our Mom and Dad and some really young ones. Or older sisters and brothers taking the young ones trick or treating. I love the "WOW'S" when I hand out full sized bars.

Everyone thought Gretchen was a bitch. And the first interview her she alienated Portlanders said she just couldn't succeed in Portland because it was to backwoods and said she was moving to New York. The other two winners stayed here and are doing quite well.

I don't like either of the Home Shopping gals but I dislkie Thomas even more because of the way he treats his girl friend.

And I forgot the apprentice, I liked the gal that got fired. She was abrasive but kind of cute.

Hi Dona

You are welcome here anytime. Heck I'd put both your and The Shankster in the two recliners I have and wait on you until you both got well!

I am glad you are a little better and pleased you can walk on your own but you are still in my thoughts and prayers until you are one hundred percent.

As is The Shankster. That seems like a long time to be ill. I can think of better diets than the one he is on.

Gretchen did let the win go to her head. She said she was upset becuse the producers didn't show that she had a sense of humor.

Dona, glad to hear you're better, but not happy to hear the Shankster's malady is hanging on. I'm keeping both of you in my thoughts and prayers. The shows are always fun and we're growing accustomed that the best laid plans seem to go awry, through nothing we do (g). Barbara's philosophy is make sure the residents have fun and my job is to repeat "smile!" when I don't see it happening and count when someone is in trouble (which is ironic, since I'm in trouble as often as anyone, it seems to me!)

Bill, the Carolina Girlz are a pretty special group and most of them who do performances are able to deal with the unexpected, while the newer ones are learning by example, in most cases.

The blood tests are pretty much the standard panels for the annual physical on the 9th, nothing special to be checked that I can see, other than her wanting to see Vitamin D levels. Those may be low, given I've not been able to spend my usual time doing gardening and yard work, but we'll see.

Hi DR

I am still praying and sending good thoughts for a good blood test result even though it is a normal test!
