Want an article that is just make you shake your head and maybe even tick you off? Read the following:

PRESIDENTS.

The answer to yesterday's president was Chester A. Arthur. Today's president was quoted as saying, "He serves his party best who serves the country best." He was born in 1822 and died in 1893. He said these words in his inauguration address to soothe bitter feelings over his election which was decided just days before he took the oath after months of dispute. His victory was given to him by a special Congregational committee. After a scandal where it was said that blacks were prevented from voting. If you know the number nineteen you can answer the question, Which president am I?

I just despair of the Middle East in general and its treatment of women in particular. They just don't get it that if they'd stop suppressing half of their population, they could become far more productive in the world. And their men might be able to grow up and not think the sight of an ankle will send them into sexual frenzy. I won't even comment on the role of religion in these atrocities.

Then there's what's going on in Mexico. Maybe I just despair of humanity.

If all they are doing in Australia is meowing and yelling at each other, I guess they take the good humanity prize for today.

I agree with Pat's comments on the situations involving women in the Middle East. When one looks at some of the heroines who've come from that area, the women who've led people to better lives and countries to better environments on rare and brief occasions, it would seem they're much better equipped to deal with issues than the men.

The teacher story is incredible. That she could remain so calm and level headed and find a way to truly protect her you charges is impressive. What's discouraging is that such a situation should have occurred.

As to men being catty - honest to goodness, I'm beginning to think that all governing groups, from congress to Parliements, are really kindergartens and need overseers, rugs, afternoon naps and the like, to match their behaviors.

Hi Pat

It amazes me that we let the Middle East get away with their treatment of women. Some rules we even make our women in military follow when they are stationed there. We shouldn't.

Not only Mexico but almost everywhere in the world.

Even the yelling and meowing can lead to worse things.

Hi DR

I wonder if we will see in our lifetimes women being treated as human beings in the Middle East I sure hope so.

I was really impressed with the teacher. She kept the calm made the kids get down and really risked her own life. Gang wars on going on everywhere including here. We have had several shootings and at least three deaths in the last three weeks.

I'm with you on men being catty. Acting like two year olds. How these idiots get elected is beyond me.
