Spys, Cooks, & Dogs.

Less then two weeks now. I can do it.

First up today is a surprising story about World War II:

rom a little known war story to a great idea from a Los Angeles chef.

Moving on to the type of stories we all love, good animal stories. This is one from DR's neck of the woods:

Hang in there, Bill! I know you'll make it. You always do, somehow.

We were probably all a little paranoid at the end of WWII. Rather than having an active postwar Nazi underground, the Germans were probably just relieved to have the whole thing over with.

Nice idea to have the dinner fundraisers, and bravo to that good dog who kept the toddler warm overnight.

You can do it. You always do. And I hope you have treats-for-you lined up for the end of the season.

The article says the "threats" seem silly now, but I'm not so sure, when I think back to poisoned OTC meds and other issues. Maybe we ought to take another look.

Good for the Closed on Monday restaurant. Sounds like they're doing their part to help local orgs do what needs doing.

The SC story I hadn't seen, but it was heartwarming. Also not the first report I've seen of a family dog taking responsible for a child and saving its life. Every time I see a story like this, I want to paste it to the forehead of those who say, "dumb animals."

Hi Pat

The way things are going at work I may even be done early!

I was watching a show about WWII and there were some reports back then that Hitler didn't really commit suicide but rather left on one of the U-boats for South America. That would have been frightening.

I love good dog stories.

Hi DR

I do have some treats. Clean house one the one day off and then a couple of nights at Mom's since Sis is going to Utah for her grandson's graduation.

I am with you, I don't think the threats sound silly at all. Dunb animals my foot, the consistently help their owners. If they aren't giving them companions ship then they are helping in other ways.
