You've Been Pranked.

Let's start the day off with an appropriate for the day article:

I have pulled off a few pranks in my life. Small ones. Short sheeting. Icy Hot in shorts and jock straps. And so on. Probably the best prank ever thought of in my lifetime was the mastermind of a really good friend and myself. We had the good sense to call of the prank at the last minute. R & I worked at a company where Bob W. was our supervisor. He was a racist bigot magnified. It was winter time R was a professional baseball player just keeping busy until the season started up again. Neither one of us were bigots and it was quite annoying to listen to the B.S. Bob W. was spewing. R knew an African-American teammate that was taking acting classes. We decided to hire the acting class dude to come in to work one day and go to Bob's office and ask Bob if he could marry his daughter. We chickened out at the last minute because we didn't want to go to jail if he died of a heart attack. Any pranks in your past, done or undone?

Time for an update. My boss told me something on Friday that really kind of shocked me. I've worked fifty-nine more hours this year than I did last year at this time. When you add to it that I've also done a lot more with Mom this tax season than last it becomes pretty amazing that I'm not that tired. I am a year older and doing more work than for many years so I should be exhausted. I'm not really.

Last week of course it was five days of work. Three work projects at home. Dinner Thursday night at Mom's. Last Sunday and yesterday at Mom's. The next week is going to be six days at work (it is crunch time so Saturday is added to the schedule.) Thursday night is at Mom's. Saturday in between work is at Mom's to prepare Saturday and Sunday dinners. Other than that there really isn't much to do.

OK, I spilled my guts. Now spill yours. Catch me up on what is going on with you, your friends, and relatives. Let me know who needs prayers and/or good thoughts. Vent if you so desire. Shout the good stuff at the top of your longs if you so desire. Post anything you damn well please.

I am closing with a damn cute video that DR. sent:

Haven't had any pranks played in a long time. Way back when I worked at Hanna Barbera for a while, the sound editors were very big on pranks. Or they said they were. They mostly told stories about previous ones, rather than showing me new ones. The stories were pretty darned good.

Not realizing it was April Fool's, I turned on the radio in the middle of the night and heard a serious discussion about "entities" on the moon and how this guy was tracking their activities. I thought these guys had finally gone 'round the bend, until they closed the show with "Happy April 1st" or some such clue.

I don't know whether to be glad or sorry that you're working so much more this year, Bill. I hope at least you're getting rich. {g}

Great duck video! That banker is a good catcher!

I really can't think of any pranks, especially at work. Guess I worked with some pretty boring folks (wry s).

Hard to believe you've put in all the extra hours at work and still extra time with your mom. I wonder if it's because you're feeling physically better this year than last. Just don't overdo, although that's probably unavoidable given the date.

Another week of research, but I think all the general stuff is done and now I get down to the nitty-gritty. Line dance and pool time. My Kindle arrived and I've been fiddling with it. Also received a copy of a book from one of my clients, with a lovely acknowledgement and hand written note. In the past week have received cover jpegs and glowing comments from two clients, which will go up on the client page of my site. Taxes are done, filed, mailed, accepted and checks are mailed. Yea! Took Scamp to Furman, for a walk around the lake and through the Japanese gardens and it was beautiful. Great weather, everything in bloom and she was as close to perfectly behaved as a one-year old puppy in a strange environment could be. (I can't say the same for some of the other canines).

Next week is pool, line dance, evaluating publishing options, the knitting group, maybe some raking and mulching. Of course, there are always the daily and weekly domestic and administrative duties. I'd get ever so much more accomplished, if I had a wife (G)

Hi Pat

I would have almost bet that a company like Hanna Barbera would be a prankster place. I kind of wonder if all places tell more stories of pranks then they do actual pranks.

I would have had the same reaction that you did if I had gotten up in the middle of the night and turned on the radio. I would have thought it was real. Waking up I would have never given one thought to what day it was.

Not getting rich but getting more than last year and I may even get a bonus.

I loved DR's duck video. The banker is my kind of person!

Hi DR

Boring isn't awlays bad!

Truthfully, DR, I've had more health issues than last year. There is only three weeks to go, I can do almost anything for three weeks!

Research is one of those things people think is boring but it isn't always, the main problem I have with research is getting sidetracked. Something interesting pops up that has nothing to do with the reason I'm researching and leads me in a different direction.

Glad you had line dance and pool. Hope the Kindle turns out to be what you want it to be. What a great thing to receive, a lovely acknowledgement. I might be tempted to use it in my advertising. I'm glad you are. And from two clients!

Yea for Scamp!

Looks like next week is pretty full for you.

I had hurt one of my hands a couple of weeks ago. Nothing serious. But it made it hard to button one of the sleeve buttons. I'd told Mom, I need to find a wife so I have someone to button this shirt for me!
