Dirty Little Secrets

I am always hopeful to learn some secrets that I can hold against you becaus another update day is here.

The last week I have spent a lot of time recovering from a computer crash, working on my own IRS problems, and changing passwords due to an idiot hacker. Hackers should be put in jail and kept there for the rest of their lives. Sunday was breakfast with the guys. I spent Tuesday night and Wednesday at Mom's. Thursday was the foot doctor and minor foot surgery. Mom had an ingrown toenail and I had my quarterly procedure. We went to lunch afterwards. There was a nice dinner out Friday night with Mom, Sis and her husband. Saturday it was shopping for birthday cards and then the movie Wall Street, Money Never Sleeps. Good movie. Then I fell asleep watching football.

Today it is breakfast with the guys. Tomorrow it is a business lunch. Tuesday lunch with mom. Wednesday probably laundry, either that our buying new clothes. Thursday dinner with the family. Friday is lunch with Mom. Saturday grocery shopping for my house and Mom's house. A little something every day. I was seriously considering signing up for a standup comedy class they are now offering that starts next Sunday. This is the first standup class that they are offering in the Portland area. It involves learning how to write and perform comedy. I haven't made my final decision yet but I think I'm leaning not taking this class and waiting for the second go around. The class is every Sunday afternoon for about ten weeks and I'm just not ready to make a commitment to that many weeks during the winter months. I may change my mind but it is unlikely.

This is also birthday week in my family. My brother's birthday is Tuesday. My niece, Lisa, has a birthday today. Speaking of Lisa I have some really good news about her. Lisa has accepted a position as the morning co-anchor on Channel Eleven in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She will start on air on October 25. This is an absolutely huge break for her and I know she will run with it. Dallas-Fort Worth is the fifth largest market in the United States. The last time she was on the air was in Salt Lake, about the twenty-fifth largest market. After a five year hiatus it is huge to not only return to the air but to return to it in a market twenty slots higher. Here is a link to the web page of the channel she will be on. She isn't on the web page yet but will be in the near future. If they stream their newscast you may even be able to see her.

Now the entertainment update. David Hasselhoff was kicked off of Dancing With The Stars and I wished it had been the thug, aka, The Situation. I was surprised at how well Florence Henderson did. Finally an olderster that has some skills. Top Chef announced an all star show that will start in December. The Good Wife starts Tuesday. Amazing Race starts tonight. You can meet the teams here:

I kind of want Andie and Jenna to win. It is about time women won this show. If not them then one for the old farts, Gary and Mallory, the father daughter team. For no reason at all the team of Jill and Thomas already annoys me.

That's all for the day. Time to get dressed and head out to meet the guys. The blog is now yours. Tell me everything. Post whatever you damn well please as it is your day on the blog.

Bill, you asked yesterday about Project Gutenberg.org -- they provide free downloads of books in the Public Domain (also audio versions). It's pretty much an all-volunteer deal, and I do proofreading online for them.

Big CONGRATULATIONS to your niece! I hope it's everything she hopes for.

Your schedule sounds very tiring to me, so I hope you're enjoying at least most of it.

I looked at the Amazing Race clips, and can't say I have a favorite or a pet annoyance yet. Most of the girls are kind of cookie-cutter gorgeous, but that's TV for you.

The Hof was a good choice to go on DWTS, with your choice, "The Situation" (what a weird name) next. I'll be watching Good Wife and Top Chef All Stars, but not interested in the Top Chef Desserts show. Mentalist is back already, and Castle, both of which I like.

Bummer on the computer crash, hacker, IRS issues (that seems pretty incredible) and all the computer hassles. Hackers were what caused all our problems with the credit card, so you have my empathy. Sounds to me like you've got a full plate and your schedule makes me want a nap! No wonder you fell asleep during football

What wonderful news about Lisa! I'm so excited for her. I know it's been a tough few years for her, from comments you've made, and I hope this is just what's needed and wanted. Please, please give us the link again when she starts at the station, as I'm not sure my mush mind will remember to come back her and look for it.

Quiet week. Editorial. Therapy massage and chiro app't and, after Monday's migraine and describing how the pain traveled, both are working on the possible connection between shoulder and hip and trying some different approaches. I'm encouraged. I've work stacked up for at least two months, maybe longer, and inquiries still outstanding for decisions. Like you, not quite enough hours in the day, but that's probably because I don't "do" mornings well.

Hi Pat

I am really impressed with your volunteer work and you ability to proofread. You really are amazing. I will check out Gutenberg.org

With my niece she really has to run with it. She lost her last media job five years ago and because of the way she lost it, it has been extremely hard for her to get back into the business. There are thousands wanting every job. So this is huge for her and I'm hoping she doesn't make the same mistakes again.

I enjoy most things I do but some days I do just want to stay home and not go anywhere.

Most of the girls on The Amazing Race were theb barbie doll types which is one of the reasons I am hoping the father-daughter team wins or the sisters win.

I just though the Hof should have stayed because of Kym Johnson. I always root for her since meet her on the first DWTS tour.

I can't get into Top Chef deserts either but I love The Good Wife.
I love Castle but can never seem to stay up late enough to watch it.

Hi DR

I hate hackers. They caused both of us problems. When reading my plate it seems fuller than it really is. The football was on late, still going at almost eleven. I rise at five. Snoozed before it ended. It was OK because my Ducks still won.

See my not to Pat re Lisa, she has had some tough years but some of her own making, now I think that she has been humbled and now that she has a second chance I don't think there will any stopping her. As soon as she starts I will provide the link again.

Glad you had a quiet week but it sure looked like a busy one. I hope your migranes are few and far between and that you do find out the connections so that they can become a thing of the past.

We should form a partnership I do mornings well, just not evenings. We would have the entire day covered!
