Repeating the title because I am not very creative today. I am realling enjoying watching the Rose Parade this morning. It is bringing back memories of a New Years Day from my childhood. My dad sold TVs. Because he sold TVs they always gave him a demo for our house. This one year we were the first family in the neighborhood to have a color TV. Mom fixed a gigantic breakfast for friends, family, neighbors near and far. We had about forty people sitting at card tables around the living room watching the Rose Parade on a 19 Inch Color TV set while us kids served as unpaid waiters and waitresses.
Today is the Rose Bowl Game. Ellen, who posts once in a while, is from Wisconsin. I am from Oregon. I am guessing that Ellen is rooting for the Wisconsin Badgers. I am rooting for the Oregon Ducks? Whose side are you on? Both are great teams and this is going to be a great game, probably one of the best games of the year. GO DUCKS!!

Since both you and Ellen are my friends, I am going to have to root for both teams equally, I'm afraid. With the extremely limited amount of rooting I ever do. I'll probably find out who won in tomorrow's paper, but I wish you both luck and may the best team win.
That was an amazing rescue. How fortunate that all those brave and competent people were there to help!
Pretty funny lawsuits! I can only hope they were all thrown out of court.

The rescue even though I knew the outcome was tense. Amazing there were so many competent there and willing to help.

Since I won't be watching the game, I'll just say, "May the best team win, may they both play well and may there be no injuries." I'll let you give me the results tomorrow.
Loved the "good" story. Great way to start the new year, knowing there are caring people who are willing and able to help. Interesting the bit about the guy with the handgun shooting out the window, which allowed the rescue of the children. I so like happy endings.
The lawsuits fall under "stupid." The bad is that they tie up courts, delaying "real" trials and the money spent on attorneys and court costs, which could probably feed thousands of people in poverty and re-educate thousands who need jobs.
The ugly also seems to fall under stupid, as you said.

It was probably the best game in Rose Bowl history. Evenly matched teams and both teams played well. And the Ducks won.
The good story just makes be both happy and smiling. It just confirms there are good people in the world that will help strangers.
Interesting point about the costs of the stupid lawsuits costing money that could be better spent. Not really an aspect that I had thought about.
The million dollar bill story is just so stupid not only because there is no such animal but thinking about Walmert having enough money on hand to cash it.

I found it interesting the best bowl games so far where Washington and Oregon games. Pac-12 is going to be tough next year!
