Moment To Moment Update

Last week wasn't near as busy as next week is going to be. On the agenda this week: Today is phone shopping, tomorrow mom and I go to the foot doctor then tomorrow night date number two with the nice lady takes place, Tuesday and Wednesday & Thursday mornings are at Mom's, Friday is an all day accounting seminar. Saturday is a day of rest.

Last week: Sunday for Mothers' Day I took breakfast over to Mom and we had a nice meal together. For a gift I got her four dynamite serving trays. The ones she had were following apart and I was afraid they were an accident waiting to happen. That afternoon we all went out to dinner. Monday I went to Something Borrowed. Tuesday was lawn mowing. Wednesday I was at Mom's all day and spent the night. Thursday Morning was at Mom's. Friday I went over to fix lunch for Mom as sister and brother-in-law were tied up with medical appointments. We all went to dinner that night to celebrate my brother-in-law's new job with Tektronix. Saturday was hell because mom fell. We did get her backup but the rest of the day she was scared and was in pain all day. I was really afraid we were going to lose her. It was moment to moment. Fortunately this morning she sounded great and I can relax a bit.

The entertainment up date. For the second time in eighteen seasons and all woman team won The Amazing Race. Sisters Kisha and Jen won the million bucks. On the Celebrity Apprentice Nene basically quit and Star was eliminated. As much as I dislike Star I thought Meatloaf should have been sent packing. They are down to four now with Meatloaf and Marlee Matlin on one team and John Rich and Little John on the other team. On Dancing With The Stars Romeo and Chelsea were eliminated when I thought Kirstie should have been sent home. The final four are Hines Ward, Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, and Ralph Macchio. It is a real even field but I am thinking that the football player, Ward, will win.

The blog is now yours. Tell me all about yourselves. Tell me what went on, is going on, and will go on in your lives. Post anything you damn well please.

So sorry about your mom falling! What a scare you had! I'm very glad to hear that there seems to be no harm done.

I missed RACE entirely (again), so I never really had a favorite to win. I think Trump is just pulling names out of a hat to fire. Or keeping the ones he thinks bring viewers. I'm missing most of DWTS, too, but I still hope either Kirstie or Ralph win, maybe only because I actually knew who they were when the show started. SUVIVOR finishes tonight, too, opposite APPRENTICE and the finale of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. SURVIVOR loses, as I haven't cared much about it this year, either. Are these "reality" shows getting stale?

PS: Google is getting downright invasive. I tried to post this, and first had to sign in again, which is not unusual, happens now and then. But then I didn't get back to the comments page, I got some Google page about getting my password back if I lose it. They wanted a cell phone number or, failing that, an email, which they should already have.

The way I got out of it was just closing everything, going back to your blog, and posting my comment all over again with this addendum. This time it seems to be working without a lot of annoying questions.

Bil, so scary about Mom falling. I'm so glad to hear she's sounding good this morning. I hope all continues to do well. Congratulations to you b-i-l on the new job!

Moment to moment? M-T-W, up at 6:30 to go outside, back to bed until 8:30, pages, meditation (she understands quiet), pool, play time, editorial, playtime with ball, supper for everyone - we went out one of those nights - outside, emails, outside. W was groceries. Th-F I'd finally gotten smarter, closed the blinds and drew the drapes. Up at 7:30 to go outside, back to cuddle and doze for an hour, meditation, pool, playtime. Editorial Th, spent F on the refinance paperwork. Standard 4:45 playtime.

Yesterday was domestics and gave Scamp the run of the house. Spook has finally decided she's here to stay and came around to playing and they crashed and banked around either Himself's office (he has a large open area in the middle) or the yard. It's great to see Spook acting like a puppy again (she's only three, but hasn't had a playmate, since Skeeter began failing). Picture 2-1/2 lbs chasing 22 lbs and you can imagine the entertainment value around here (g).

Yesterday must have been the day for falls. My left hip had gone out, for some reason. I was carrying dog and plate to chair, didn't realize the crate door was opened all the way, tangled with it, caught pants leg. Put full weight on left leg and went down, crashing into the ottoman in the process. Good news is Scamp escaped unscathed, I hit my side above where I hit the ribs before and the fall seems to have straightened out the hip. Bad news is, I'm back to hurting like the dickens if I move anything but very carefully and with limited reach. I'm really beginning to feel like a major clutz!

Next week we see the vet for Spooker's annual and to have Scamp's new puppy check-up, I hope to still get to the pool, if only to walk, Himself's daughter is getting married Saturday, so we'll be going to Columbia. My youngest nephew graduates college in CA. Must get cards and write checks tomorrow!

Pat - I'm not sure what's changed. I did upgrade Foxfire. Anyway, I now go in, Google already has my name and password, says it can't process, when I sign in, I come back her, am signed in, past message and all is well. Go figure.

Hi Pat

That is a security check that happens if you signed off of Google or if your security software did an automatic weekly or daily scan set to clear out your Internet history. All you have to do is just hit continue and proceed it will take your to your accounting. What they are suggesting is a security check if your computer or account is broken into, they are offering a way for them to send you your password, new or old. They reccommend the cell phone number because that is the hardest for someone to get to.

The reality shows are getting stale, they need to spruce them up a bit or go back to dramas like The Good Wife. I kind of want Marle to win The Apprentice and Kirstie to win Dancing.

Hi DR

My b-i-l thanks you for the congratulations and mom thanks you for your concern.

Up at 6:30 for three days in a row, that has to be a record for you. What a darn busy week you had.

Really good news that Scamp and Spook seem to have bonded. They say sometimes pets can feel the pain for other pets they are close to and maybe Spook was suffering for Skeeter. Two pounds chasing twenty two pounds would be hilarious.

Ouch, I am so sorry you fell. In a weird way I am glad it helped the hip. I wonder if you bruised or broke some ribs. I am going to pray for quick healing for you.

Taking one dog to a vet is a challenge, takeing two of them is a chore. CONGRATULATIONS to Himself's daughter and you nephew!

Hi DR

I am going to ask you to try something without knowing what software you are running.

Sign out. Then go to the Control Panel. Find "performance and maintenance." Click it on "Disk Cleanup." After a while there will be a popup. Put a check next to everything on the list in that popup. Click OK.

They sign in again and see if that didn't do the trick.

I am sorry to hear about your mom falling, Bill. It can be very scary to fall.
I think all your weeks sound exhausting. But am happy to hear there is a date #2 taking place. :)
DR, sorry to hear about you falling, hope it isn't too bad and you will heal quickly. Maybe Scamp & Spook will make you forget about the pain when you are watching them play!
Some of the reality shows are not doing it for me either. Celebrity Apprentice is just strange this year. I like John Rich, but think he can be a bit cocky. (can I say that on here?)And I was also hoping for Kirstie or Ralph to win as they were who I knew....even though I don't think Kirstie is anywhere near the best.
You all pretty much know how my week went, Shankster's surgery on Friday and pretty much still dealing with that. Can't say he is better, in more pain yesterday and today than ever. Trying to find enough liquid meals for him to drink is turning out to be difficult. But Cold seems to go down best.

Hi Dona

Thanks for checking in.

I am kind of getting tired of the reality shows and I think a lot of them have hit the wall or as they say in the television industry, jumped the shark (a prhase that came from an episode of Happy Days that started the downhill climb of that series.) Because the reality shows hit the wall they are trying gimmicks like The Amazing Race did this year by brining popular teams back. I am rooting for Marle to win the Celebrity Apprentice but they did have some weird folks on this year. Meatloaf, Gary Busey, Nene etc.

I'm really sorry to hear that The Shankster is not only in pain but that it is even worse than yesterday. There is no way to say this but liquid diets suck. I am hoping that he gets steak and potatoes sometime soon.
