Off The Shelf

Mom is doing better and hasn't had one of the spells for a day but she really isn't back to normal so we are keeping her under constant watch. Yesterday the incident I referred to was she was sitting in the middle of her bedroom in her wheelchair not having a clue where she was. It was in the morning so I thought she might have taken to much pain medication during the night. The only way to figure that out is to keep her under watch for a few days. No more incidents and sister and I can breath a little easier.

Just miscellaneous off the shelf stuff. Articles I've been holding for a while.

First let's look in the mirror:

Next up let's learn the target of thieves. Nope not people, the new things they are after:

Now a little help with back pain:

QUOTE.

Mary Cassett authored yesterday's quote. "We are working towards a shared vision of the future for health among all the world's people. A vision future in which we develop new ways of working together at global and national level. A vision which has poor people and poor communities at its centre. And a vision which focuses action on the causes and consequences of the health conditions that create and perpetuate poverty" was authored /a woman born into 1939. First becoming Minister of the Environment in 1974-1979, and a Member of Parliament beginning in 1977, She was Prime Minister of Norway from January 1981 to September 1981, and led the Labor Party in opposition until 1986-1989, when after a brief 1989-1990 Conservative Party ascendency, she returned to head the government, building a coalition with the Center Party. She was succeeded after her resignation in 1996 by Thorsten Jagland, also of the Labor Party, in October 1996. In 1993 She formed and chaired the World Commission on Environmental Development, and received a 2004 Blue Planet Prize for her promotion of sustainable development. In 1998 she was elected as director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO). Her husband is an academic and researcher, has held political office as a member of the Conservative Party in Norway. Who authored today's quote.

"Metalmorphosis" is certainly interesting. I can't see watching it for very long, but I was happy to see it once.

Tailgate thefts, who knew? There was for a while here a rash of thefts of third seats from minivans. I guess maybe that's an option and people who didn't buy one decided they couldn't live without?

I'm not surprised about the stretching helping back pain. Doctors have been advising that for many, many years. And I'll believe it about yoga, which involves a lot of stretching, too. There's some chiropracter locally who advertises a miracle cure for back pain on the radio. Endlessly. I am very, very sick of his commercials. Do I believe one word of them? No way.

Who knew we had such a fascinating statue practically in our back yard? Charlotte's about two hours away. I found the videos fascinating, altho I can't imagine sitting and watching it for any period of time.

Tail gates? I knew about the copper tubing and pipe and such, as it's been a major problem in our area for several years, but... what are you gonna do with a tailgate, unless you lost your own?

The yoga report doesn't surprise me. I know a large number of people who do yoga primarily for chronic back problems. And, yes, it's the stretching that does the trick, so stretching classes would help, as well. Actually, stretching can help just about any pain connected with joints and muscles. I have a series of neck stretches I do, which were prescribed by the therapist to help keep my shoulder out of trouble. Hmmm... think I'll ask her about specific stretches for the hip, to see if we can speed up the getting better process there.

To all who know Dona and the Shankster -

Frank's (Shankster's) brother passed away today, after a battle with cancer and an anuerism (sp?) of, I think, the brain. I have no details, but I know it's been a trying battle and Dona and Frank have been at the hospital day and night most of the past month.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Thanks for letting us know, DR. My heart goes out to Dona and Frank. It's a hard time and they have my good wishes to come through it as well as possible.

Hi Pat

It was kind of hard to watch but it was really kind of interesting.

I was also surprised at the tailgate thefts. Now I am shocked at the third seats!

I hate any commericals where the promise miracle cures whether it be for your back or your tax problems. But I do believe stretching and yoga are good ways to help the pain.

Hi DR

I am always surprised at how many of the articles I find from national news sources are from S.C. It must be the place that is happening.

I knew about metals and construction material but not tail gates. You can sell the tailgate to someone are break it down to metal. I just wish the crooks would use their inventiveness for good things.

I am getting to the place where I am going to try yoga. Interesting comments about your shoulder and neck.
