Housecleaning

Monday and I am looking forward to a day and a half of housecleaning. Yup, you heard that right. I will be back from Mom's after lunch and then it is putting on the skivvies and going to work. Two and half bathrooms to polish and mop. A kitchen floor to mop. Furniture to polish. I hope I survive.

I do think I'd rather be housecleaning that on a Ferris Wheel. Others might disagree:

Some people that are cleaning out planes might say that housekeeping is for the birds:

After reading the following article I am glad I am housecleaning instead of flying:

While it was nice of the cop to raise money for the Special Olympics, it also strikes me as totally silly. But a whole lot of the Guiness Book records are totally silly, so why not?

What an interesting stowaway on the flight from Taiwan, a songbird of all things. I suppose it could have been smuggled, but maybe the poor bird just hitched a ride on the wrong plane.

I have one word for the parents on the Alaska flight. Sedation. It's too late to try to teach discipline to that kid, I'd imagine.

Kudos to the cop from me, especially given his fear of heights. The fact he did it to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics and has a child who's active in that gets him a gold star.

If they couldn't find any evidence of feathers, droppings or anything else, Im with Pat on the bird being a stowaway.

As to the family and flight... I'm sorry their vacation went awry, but a couple things occur to me. First, they must have known of the child's issues with discipline and such. Second, the father's comment that the boy's mother was much better at calming him, raises the question of how often he's needed calming and why the heck the mom wasn't the one with the boy, rather than the father. I suspect there's more behind the story than we know.

Hi Pat

If some day you don't have a lot to do just google the Guiness Book of Records and read some of the world records. It is good for a lot of laughter. I do think the cop was silly to try but it was for charity so more power to him.

I am guessing it hitched a ride. Most airports are near fields. Although you would think the noise might scare it away.

Yes, the parents could have sedated the young man and he could have slept the entire trip. they probably just didn't think of it.

Hi DR

The Cop definitely has a lot to deal with with raising a special child and it is nice that he did something not only to help his own child but also to help others. He gets my respect.

It makes me wonder if the bird was living near the airport and was just looking for food. But that people didn't bother him makes me wonder if he was smuggled. However, thinking he was on the plane by his own doing makes a much better story!

Yes, the parents had to know the child's issue and an excellent point about the boy sitting next to the mother. I suspect that you are right, there is more to the story.
