What Was That Cop's Name?

I hate traffic noise, now I have a good reason to hate it:

When little we used to play cops and robbers, I was always the cop. I think if I was playing cop right now I might use better judgment as who to pullover:

What did you say your name was?

I'm not sure I agree, I care and I forget names.

You don't need a reason to hate traffic noise. Except that it's obnoxious and just another bit of urban pollution. But if you need a reason, I suppose heart attack danger is better than most.

Dumb criminals are amazing, aren't they! I love the guy who called 911 many times to talk dirty to the operators. I wonder if those operators are allowed to hang up on callers. Or blow a loud whistle into the phone. There are 76 of those amazingly stupid criminals! I only managed to get up to #16 before I gave up. Enough, already!

I'm with you on the names thing. I care. Most of the time, anyway. But the names just go in one ear and out the other. And yes, I've tried repeating the name when introduced. Doesn't help.

Hi Pat

Heart attack gives me amunition for my friends that say I complain to much about traffic noise!

I would love the 911 operators to be able to blow whistles into the phone of the obscene phone callers. There is an endless supply of dumb criminals!

Nothing I do seems to help with names. I am good with faces and numbers but names, what did you say your name was?

Traffic noise - one more reason I'm glad we live where we do. State Park Road is well over 650 feet away and, while it may be a major artery to some areas, it's certainly not a constant and high density route. So far. Thank goodness.

Dumb criminals... is there no end?

I can't go with the not caring theory. I do care about people, but sometimes one just hits overload. I remember having 35 people in the aquacize class and trying to remember names of new folks and it didn't work, until I'd had enough exposure and experience with them. Sometimes, with folks who only come to the pool occasionally, I draw a blank. Apparently repetitious contact is one of my keys? Even in line dance class, I sometimes find myself drawing a blank on peoples' names, even though I see them every week. But, if I don't talk to them weekly...

Hi DR

I guess major arteries are hard on major arteries! I think you have the perfec living situation.

An endless supply of dumb criminals

Obviously we all agree that the not caring is B.S. My clients always was amazed at my memory but I the day before their appointments I review their files where I had made note about what hobbies they had etc. Without the file I probably wouldn't have known their name!
