The New Viagra. The Rich And Famous.

The new Viagra:

What are you cooking for the man in your life tonight:?

On to the next subject. According to the USA Today on Friday January 29, 2010 in an article written by Lorena Blas and Mary Cadden the top ten news makers for this month are as follows: (their score is in parenthesis)

Angelina Jole (858).

Brad Pitt (716),

Jennifer Aniston (555).

Kourtney Kardashian (335).

Tiger Woods (271).

Heidi Montag (221).

Elin Nordegren (216).

Kim Kardashian (204).

Charlie Sheen (202).

Brittney Spears (201).

Separate after a few years together, cheat on your wife, get a lot of plastic surgery, be married to a wayward golfer, beat up your wife, show some skin and you can make the list too! Personally, I would have liked to see George Clooney (put together a telethon for Haiti), Betty White (stole the SAG show), the famous dog rescuers, or anyone one of a hundred good newsmakers make the above list than anyone that did. Are we partly at fault? Would we rather read about the stars hurting themselves or others rather than good role model stories?

You can always read the USA Today's take on the entertainment world her:

Now that I've updated you on helpful bedroom news and the rich and famous it is your turn to update me. Tell me what is going on in your life. What tasks and events did you knock off of your to do list last week? What tasks and events do you have scheduled next week? Tell me whatever you want. If you want to share some news stories that are going on in your area, please do. If you would like to share some good pork recipes with me, by all means do so! It is your day on the blog so post anything you damn well please!

Actually, I have Pork out for dinner tonite! How weird is that?

I agree with your take on who needs to be on the list versus who actually gets on it. I do think that some get more attention than they need to get for absolutely nothing that I really care to know about them. I also think the media needs to know when to stop. There are some things I have just heard about all I want to know, leave them alone already. I personally would like to hear more about the good role models.

My week was a busy one making calls to the VA for dad over his status again, this seems to be the way they do things as I did the same thing last year. We also were able to get all his medals and arm sleeves finally for his time spent in WWII. It was also filled with trying to gather materials to finish up a project we are trying to accomplish at the house. Trust me, a bigger feat than you all will ever know. We are about half way done and I hope to be able to show you all pics of before and after. We had several things in this past year we wanted to do with the house here that needed to be done and I have an old car that I wanted to fix up, but all was going to cost more than we had so we thought we were doomed, then found we could do what we are doing for next to nothing. (our kind of moolah) So since you all here are my friends I am anxious to show you all the finished project to get your thoughts.

This week we will be finishing up several things along with an overnight stay with grandkids as my daughter in law is going for an overnighter in the hospital. Nothing serious but a prayer or two wouldn't hurt from you all if you don't mind.

I think I have shared this one before but I like both of these so here is two recipes for Pork Chops.

French Onion - Pork Chop Skillet
4-6 Boneless Pork Chops
2 onions sliced thin
2 TBSP. Worcestershire Sauce
1 pkg. Chicken Stuffing Mix
1 cup Shredded Mozzarella cheese(optional)
Cook Chops in skillet with onions until golden, stir in Worcestershire
mix stuffing with 1 1/2 cups of hot water, spoon around edge of skillet. cover (with cheese if using) for about 5-10 minutes.

Smothered Chops

My mother always baked this.

Any amount of chops and bone in or boneless is up to you.
Bake or fry them however you prefer, either way make sure to place into a baking dish for next step. 2 cans of Campbells Cream of Chicken soup with one can of milk, mix thoroughly.
Cover this over chops and place in oven at 350 for about 20-30 minutes

enjoy.

Funny about the pork. I've been eating more of it lately, but haven't noticed any, er, effects. I don't buy steaks much any more because the last few I got were not nearly as nice and tender as they used to be. I'd thought it was my market, but tried two others and was not any happier. Wonder what's going on with beef.

What were Brangelina in the news for, besides donating millions to Haiti? With the others, I seem to have missed the important news flashes of the day. Who is Heidi Montag?

I've seen Clooney quite a bit, but only a mention or two of Betty White. I must admit to following the Leno/Conan controversy, and frankly, I think they both got screwed.

Nothing of interest going on in my life, I'm afraid.

PS to Dona, lots of good thoughts and vibes coming to your daughter-in-law.

Hi Dona

Pork for dinner! Wow. Now I look at that type of dinner in a different way.

The media knowing when to stop? What a concept! Larry King is probably still doing interviews about Michael Jackson.

I think it is get that you got your dad's medals!

Any household projects are really difficult! I am really looking forward to seeing the before and after pictures! I know I am excited about your sharing the pictures with us. I am guessing that you and The Shankster do great work!

Your sister-in-law has my prayers, vibes, and good thoughts.

The receipes sounds great! I am going to try them next week. And then use them again on my honeymoon!

The second one sounds extremely easy!

Hi Pat

Brad and Angelina separated. She gets custody of the kids they adopted together. They never officially married but still adopted kids together.

The quality of beef really has gone downhill lately. I don't order it anyymore in restaurants either. Another reason to eat more pork.

Who is Heidi Montag is a model and reality star that has had multiple plastic sugeries.

I think Leno and Conan were treated terribly by NBC and Zucker should be fired. However, Conan ended up with in excess of a three million dollar buyout.

Well, Himself didn't get pork tonight, but we generally have some form of pork a couple times a week, although he mentioned recently it wasn't his favorite, unless it was ribs.

As to the top news stories -- kind of a sad commentary on where the public's priorities are? Some of these people I've never heard of, so I'm obviously not well informed. From the names I do know, I'm figuring they're all celebrities of one sort or another?

Like you, I'd as soon the top news stories/newsmakers were people providing positive role models, doing for others, showing charity and kindness and concern for folks' well being. Is it any wonder our kids and younger generations are so confused about priorities and searching for what's right/wrong/indifferent? Where are the stories about rescue workers in Haiti, for example?

Big news is the weather here, of course. We're iced in. Himself assured me (again) I didn't need to put the car at the bottom of the drive. Last time I ignore my own intuition. 12/" of snow, covered with 1/2" of solid ice, then a skiff of snow. Nobody went anywhere yesterday, including the mail carriers. Today, roads are clear, but we still can't get down the drive. If that's still true by noon tomorrow, it could get ugly, as I have places to go and things to do.

Lots of editorial hours, dinner with friends one night, Chris here for dinner one night, the pool, still picking away at the kitchen cleaning project. All cupboards emptied, all crystal washed, two boxes to the Hope Chest, starting to sort through tupperware and storage containers and such. Spent some time trying to clear upper part of drive (futile) and will pay for that in the morning, as I can already feel it now.

Dona, congrats on all the work with the VA and getting all your dad's medals and such. I look forward to hearing about the house project and seeing the befor and after pix. I hope this is something that will make life more comfortable for you and the Shankster? Yes, a budget with little cash required is my kind of all right, if I can do it myself/ourselves instead. Prayers headed your way for your d-i-l.

Brad and Angelina separated? Why was I not informed? I'm actually sorry to hear that. I mostly don't care about celeb couples, but I did rather like them together. Oh, well.

Conan came out with WELL in excess of $3 million. It was originally reported to be $44 million, and I think he got $40 or more, with at least $3 million to go to his staff. I lost track of the actual numbers, but was glad to hear the staff would get at least some.

Hi DR

I am surprised Himself doesn't like pork but then I am not all that sold on seafood or fish. It is interesting to find out what peoples likes are.

The sad things is that I have heard of all of them but then I read two papers a day and check out the internet for news stories. One of the things that having the blog has helped is keeping me informed by looking for interesting things to write about for the blog. All are celebrities. Half of them from reality shows.

I hope it thaws there fast and you can get out in the world! My least favorite weather is ice.

Sounds like your week was a nice combination of work and socializing

Hi Pat

I guess we look at it differently I wouldn't define someone ending up with forty foud million smackers as being screwed. I wouldn't mind being screwed by that.

With that much money he would never have to work again.

Bill, that's certainly true about the money. I'd be pretty darned happy with a buyout like that, myself. But I'm not young and ambitious. Conan's dream was to do the Tonight Show (as it was Leno's dream before him). They gave Leno a long time to build an audience; Conan only got 7 months. He's a fairly young guy and I doubt he wants to retire on his $40 million. My guess is that he'll have another show as soon as he's legally allowed to.

I didn't watch either show unless they had a guest I was particularly interested in, so I'm not invested in either guy, I just think NBC was floundering and handled it as badly as it was possible to do.

But hey, that's tv for you. Nobody ever said they make good decisions.

Hi Pat

I agree with you about NBC, they looked like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing and basically came out looking like idiots.

Rumor has it that Fox is going after Conan.
